What is structured cabling?
Structured cabling is a standardized approach to designing and installing a building's or campus's network cabling infrastructure. It uses organized subsystems of copper and fiber optic cabling, patch panels, and pathways following ANSI/TIA-568 standards to deliver reliable, scalable connectivity.
A properly engineered structured cabling system supports voice, data, video, and security systems on a single unified platform. It reduces troubleshooting complexity, supports future technology upgrades, and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty requirements. SBI designs all structured cabling systems under RCDD oversight with BICSI-aligned installation practices.
